This Privacy Policy explains how Inplug Tasks ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information. By creating an account or using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your email address and a salted, hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Profile data: display name, language, time zone, and date-format preference.
- Task content: the tasks, projects, notes, due dates, and goals you create.
- Push subscriptions: if you enable notifications, the browser push endpoint and keys needed to deliver reminders.
- Technical data: standard server logs (such as request timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the core service: storing and syncing your tasks across your devices.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send transactional email (email verification and password reset).
- To send task reminders, only if you explicitly enable notifications.
3. Legal basis
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the App) and on the basis of your consent (for example, push notifications), which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Storage and security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by our infrastructure provider (Render) and, where you choose, in your browser's local storage for offline use. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2. Data in transit is protected with HTTPS. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the App: hosting/database (Render), email delivery (SMTP provider), and web push delivery (browser push services). These providers process data only on our instructions.
6. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your account record, tasks, sessions, tokens, and push subscriptions are permanently removed.
7. Your rights
You can access and update your profile in the App, export your tasks at any time (Data → Export), and delete your account and all associated data (Profile → Delete account). You may also request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. See our data deletion page for details.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
